92 Year Old Woman Sets Marathon Record
We are all still abuzz after yesterday's 90th Comrades Marathon, with South African's cinching both the men's and women's title.
If you're feeling inspired, but seem to come up with every excuse not to take that first step in training, we hope this will give you a reason to lace up those running shoes – A 92 year old cancer survivor has just run her way into the record books by becoming the oldest women to finish a marathon.
Harriette Thompson from North Carolina completed the Rock 'n' roll Marathon in San Diego on Sunday, which she managed to complete in just over 7 hours and 24 minutes – and she did this all with a constant smile on her face.

This is Harriette's 16th marathon, which we're sure she wouldn't have been able to achieve without her constant good attitude.
The oldest woman who previously held this record was Gladys Burrill, who was 92 years and 19 days old, when she finished the 2010 Honolulu Marathon. According to race organisers, Harriette is 92 years old and 65 days old.
Harriette didn't start running until her late 70's, proving that it's never too late to pick up those running shoes.
