Braai Jalapeno Poppers

Braai’d jalapeño poppers
 
8 Whole pickled jalapeños
2 Stalks of spring onion, thinly sliced
8 Pieces of mozzarella cheese, cut into thick buttons (small enough to fit inside the jalapeno)
8 Rashes of bacon
3/4 Cup of smokey BBQ sauce
 
Cut a slit on the side of the jalapeno and add some spring onion followed by the stick of cheese. Wrap the bacon to secure the cheese inside the pepper before skewering on a kebab skewer. Repeat the process with the other peppers until all 8 poppers are skewered on the same kebab. This will help when turning them over.
 
Place over medium heat coals and begin crisping the bacon. Once golden turn over and braai the other side. Once both sides have browned begin brushing the BBQ sauce over, turning every 2 minutes to ensure the popper is well coated in the sauce, making it sweet and sticky.
