Cats with Real Life Jobs

Cats might be the boss of the home, but these cats have proved that ruling a home is not the only job they can do!

Millie: Guard Cat

When workers at Bandai’s toy warehouse in Britain found a Bengal cat roaming the grounds, they decided to hire her. She is now an official security guard, and even has a contract which includes pet care.

Kuzya: Assistant Librarian

If you were hoping to get a job as a librarian, you'll have a tough time outdoing this employee. Earlier this year, Kuzya was promoted to assistant librarian at the library in Novorossiysk, Russia, where she earns a salary of 30 packs of cat food per month.

Stubbs: Mayor

Stubbs has been mayor of Talkeetna, Alaska for 16 years, and is living the high life. Stubbs drinks water out of a wineglass coated with catnip every day (no, seriously), and he continues to inspire felines to run for office. In 2012, a 9-year-old Maine Coon named Hank ran for Senate in Virginia under the independent ticket, which earned him 7000 votes.

Tama: Stationmaster and Economy-Booster

When Tama became stationmaster at the Wakayama electric rail station in Japan, the amount of riders increased 10% - a boost of 2.1 million passengers per year! To recognize the calico cat’s achievement, the railway promoted Tama to Operating Officer, making her the first cat to become an official railroad executive.
Tama unfortunately recently passed, but has been succeeded by Nitama.

Maray: Russian Museum Doorman

 Maray Museum Doorman Cat Expresso

Maray is a ginger feline in Serpukhov, Russia, who thanks to an April Fool's joke, now has a 9-to-5 paid job as “doorman” at the Serpukhov Museum of History and Art.
As part of the joke the museum staff decided to trick the local media by writing up a fake job application letter from a cat that had been hanging around the building. The note was even signed with a scribbled paw print.
The joke was on staffers when the museum ended up receiving so many inquiries about their new employee that they decided to hire him full time.
Maray now greets visitors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., is allowed a lunch break and occasional outdoor, has his own tent to sleep in AND is paid in fish and hamburger patties instead of Rubles.
