Designers Unveil Floating Island Concept
When it comes to getting out of the big city and hitting the high sea’s, there’s nothing quite like sailing.
But its safe to say that nothing comes close to what designers are calling the “floating island”, a new concept for an 80-metre tall private floating island that also sails.
The Floating Island’s jaw-dropping design features a waterfall, shark feeding station, helipad, underwater dining saloon AND two beach clubs. Aspects of the island make it look a little bit like a very flashy oil rig, but it features a luxurious penthouse, two elevators and a jacuzzi with a glass bottom.
It’s not very fast though, as it is only able to travel at about 8 knots. For that reason, the floating island comes with an underwater submarine so you can get around faster.
The vessel is yet to be given a price-tag, but no doubt it will be outside the budget of us mere mortals. The Floating Island will be showcased at the Monaco Yacht Show this week, with interested billionaire buyers already showing their support.
