April 22 in 1970 marked the first global Earth Day and has been acknowledged ever since and this year’s theme is Environmental and climate literacy. The planet is our most precious commodity but we seem to be destroying it by not looking after it. People need to be educated about the damage that we are constantly doing it.
As a global community we need to take ownership of what happens on our planet and put a stop to all the pollution that we cause as it may not effect us personally now, it will however effect our kids and future generations, We don’t work hard trying to create a good future for our kids or future children, for them not to have a planet to enjoy our hard work on. We need to understand how climate changes affects our planet such as having hurricanes and tremors in South Africa for the first time.
Environmental and climate policies is what is needed as well as a greater need for green technologies so that we can ensure the survival of the earth and all of its resources, as it provides all those inhabiting it with life and sustenance
