Health Hacks for Women

It's no secret that women can multi-task, but sometimes they are so busy looking after everyone else, that they forget to care for themselves!

The work-life balance is easier said than done, but it all starts with your own well-being. Dr Darren Green shared three helpful health hacks for women, and since Moms rule the household, these hacks can totally be relevant for the whole family.

Sunscreen

Even if you're not going to be outside for long period of time, get into the habit of applying sunscreen daily. It doesn’t matter your age, skin type or skin tone, wearing a sunscreen every day will protect your skin from sun damage. This will lower your risk of skin cancer and premature aging.

Strength training

Cardio is fantastic and just walking 30 minutes a day is good for your health. However, do not fear the weights section or adding resistance exercise! Don't be intimidated by the heavy lifters in the gym, adding strength training to your workout can be as simple using your own body weight. Start with lunges, squats and tricep dips and as you get stronger you can add light weights. Check out all the fitness videos on our YouTube for inspiration and guidance!

Diets

Stop with the fad diets, please! You don't need a quick-fix, you need something that you can maintain everyday. It's as simple as following a healthy nutrition plan - eat more vegies, fruit, enjoy a bit of lean protein, stick to wholegrain carbohydrates in moderation and keep your fat and sugar low. If you want to lose weight, the key is eatling less calories than what you burn. Enjoy smaller portions, and healthy snacks, while working in 30 minutes of exercise.
