What can you do with 50 litres of water?

Dam levels are continuing to drop as high water consumption continues and hot and dry weather persists.

Level 6b water restrictions are in effect as from 1 February 2018, restricting consumers to 50 litres a day.

There are also new restrictions to the use of borehole water. We spoke to Xanthea Limberg, from the Cape Town Mayoral Committee of Utilities for an update on the latest.

How to prevent Day Zero City of Cape Town

Day Zero is currently planned for 16 April 2018*, when dam levels will be too low to safely extract water. If all users reduce their consumption to 50 litres or less everyday, then Day Zero could be avoided.
