Pan Fry Dumplings

Easy to make yummy dumplings!

Pan Fry Dumplings 
 
 
300g Cake Flour
100g Hot Water
90g Cold Water
¼ tsp Salt
 
300g Cabbage
250g Butternut
1 Carrot
5-8 Dried Shiitake mushroom
30g Soy chunks
1 Egg
 
Preperation - SoyChunks:
1. Soak in the water till soft then squeeze out water
2. Mix 1 egg with soy-sauce, balsamic Vinegar, 1ts of sugar, some white-pepper, cinnamon and sesame oil.
3. Soak softened chunks in the above mixed sauce for 15 mins, then pan-fly for 1-2 mins.
 
Preperation - Shiitake Mushroom:
1. Soak mushrooms in the water till soft, then squeeze out water
2. Pan-fry with a bit cooking oil, soy-sauce, balsamic & sugar.
 
Preperation - Butternut:
1. Steam and Mash butternut.
 
Making - Wrappers :
1. In a large bowl, combine flour and salt, and slowly put in hot water and mix well with a wooden spoon.
2. Slowly put in cold water and mix again with spoon until it turns into a lump.
3. Knead it by hand for 10 minutes until the dough surface gets smooth.
4. Cover it by wet tower and let it sit for 30 minutes to an hour.
5. Make round wrappers (.01 cm thick)
 
Making - Filling :
1. Finely chop the cabbage, carrot, seasoned mushrooms and seasoned soy-chunks.
2. Put all chopped ingredients and mashed butternut into a large bowl.
3. Add salt (2-3 Tbsp), white-pepper (1 tsp), cinnamon (1 tsp) and sesame oil (2-3 Tbsp) for taste
4. Mix all the ingredients well.
 
Making - Dumplings :
1. To assemble the dumplings, add roughly 1-1.5 heaping tsp of filling to the centre of a dumpling wrapper.
2. Fold half the wrapper over the filling and using your fingers, pleat the edges to seal.
