There were many events happening around the country this weekend, if you were in Cape Town however we hope you got to Shimmy Beach on Sunday, 26 February for the first inaugural AYOLA Tutu festival. It was an amazing concert for charity with great music and food for an even greater cause.
The AYOLA Tutu Fest was an initiative to raise funds for a young orphaned four-year-old Ayola Mofu who was orphaned off by his father after his mother passed away, which was started by Nikki Harding, his mother’s former employer. The initiative has grown to include a few companies, vendors and even the musicians who all volunteered their time for this cause, making it grow further beyond Ayola and help many other orphans in similar positions, thus making Ayola’s name an acronym for the cause ‘All Young Orphans Left Alone’.
The performance line-up was full of amazing musicians such as Goodluck, Majozi, The Kiffness, Brett Aitken, Alice Phoebe-Lou and James Copeland, who all gave great performances.
The guests all received a tutu on arrival and were encouraged to wear them during the event. If you missed out and would still like to donate to the cause, you can do so by donating to the following account:
